Respect for Hindi and regional languages

India is a multilingual land. 22languages have been classified as recognised languages under the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India. On 14 September 1949 itself, the Constituent Assembly had decided that Hindi would be the official language of the Central Government. Therefore, 14th September is celebrated as Hindi Divas. As per the announcement made by UNESCO 21st February is celebrated as International Mother Language Day to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism.Language is a symbol of our identity. Instead of using it to divide ourselves we should make it our strength. For this we should have respect for all the languages, show love towards our own mother-tongue and use it as much as possible. The Parivaar will conduct activities to promote this mission.
